I offer a coaching structure of actionable strategies for balancing home and work responsibilities.
During my twenty years of leadership experience in multiple business sectors, I have witnessed high levels of stress among successful professionals — the type that can lead to career-burnout, which I experienced personally at the young age of 28. Working within fast-paced environments can be exhilarating, but it can be difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance that allows us to thrive and become our best selves. We sometimes don’t have the tools needed to equip ourselves or others with the ability to contribute to our utmost potential. It was this knowledge that drove me to pursue coaching, after creating a life for myself that allowed me to flourish personally as well as professionally.
I began my career as the youngest and first female manager at a publicly-traded construction company and went on to lead human resources at a Fortune 500 company. I have felt called to serve within my community at various points within my career, most notably as a county commissioner, the youngest woman elected in the state of North Carolina at that time. During my four years in that very public position, I gave birth to my two children, grieved the loss of a parent, and helped my (now former) husband get his law firm started — all while working full-time for a large corporation. I understand what it means to be pulled in multiple directions at once — in our career, our community and in our family life.
I have developed actionable tools and solutions to guide my clients toward fulfillment, empowerment and living abundantly. My ultimate goal is to create relationships that help build self-efficacy, equipping clients with the tools they need to become their own best coach. Together we create a path with actionable plans where success in one area of their lives doesn’t come at the cost of success in any other. I am incredibly motivated by the continuous success of my clients – witnessing them lead and live with purpose is gratifying beyond words!
As a certified facilitator for Achieve Global, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI), and the Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation-Behavior assessment for individuals and businesses, I draw upon decades of education and direct experience to help guide individuals and organizations to success. My coaching work casts a wide net, and I am comfortable working in one-on-one relationships all the way up to strategic planning for executives and corporations. I am familiar with both public and private sector environments, and help businesses of all stripes maximize their potential for human development.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Campbell University and earned my MBA, with a concentration in International Business, from Gardner-Webb University. After working with my own coach, I knew that coaching was my career calling and became certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) to provide professional coaching services. Translating a life-long fascination with human and organizational development into a career required years of research and continuing education, and from that I have built a coaching structure of actionable, efficient and successful strategies and tools. These tools help me in my own life to balance my business and clients with my fulfilling and meaningful life as a wife to a wonderful husband and mother to three teenagers.
